One of the many definitions that marketing received throughout the years states that Marketing essentially means offering a service to the consumer in desirable conditions for the both. Well, that is a good way to put it, but let’s face it, nowadays this definition turned into “offering a limited service in the most convenient conditions…but for the supplier and the supplier only”.
What ever happened to the marketing ideal? What became of it? Because it didn’t disappear completely, it’s just buried under the growing hunger for money and so, now facing a toxic market, with unethical and dirty principles applied to selling and promoting, where all decisions are made based on one selfish question: How can I make money fast and easy?
Today, all you see is limited time offers, best price offers and maybe while all of these are good for you, something is missing. Let’s think about it! How much is it truly about you and how much is it about the business. Who is the real winner? You may run the business now, while you’re at the office, in front of your laptop, but run it through your mind, once you leave the office you turn into a consumer and you will want things to be about you and not the business.
